ABOUT SUE
To quote a very dear friend, “Hello and Welcome!”
A bit about me – I am a writer, the mom to two beautiful grown children (and four fur-babies), a child of God, a cyclist, an explorer, and the loving wife to The Daver – with a day job selling commercial furniture (I know, right??). I post a little bit of everything, but my main topics center around humor, playing in the great outdoors, inspiration, and the occasional photo challenge.
I’m pretty passionate about trying to live in the moment and going after my goals. I often jump in “heart first instead of head first” – either flying flat-out or tenaciously hanging on to the dream until God brings it into reality.
I also believe that all people have worth so I try to see and accept others with the same love and grace that God has shown me, and has for all of His children.
All that said – I am totally a work in progress who still makes plenty of mistakes. Thank goodness for grace.
Erma Bombeck is one of my favorite authors, and I think she says it best for me:
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say “I used everything you gave me.”
Blessings,
Sue

I love that quote Sue! Here’s to living big each and every day.
Sue you can delete this but I think your posts are not showing up in WordPress Reader. As an example if you search in WordPressReader for the tag ‘Wisconsin’ your latest post doesn’t show up. This happened to me when I first started blogging a few months ago. Here is a link to some info from WordPress forums http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts
One of the issues may be that if you use over 15 tags in a post it won’t show up in Reader.
Hopefully I’m not being intrusive. Just want lots of people to find your excellent writing!
The other Sue 🙂
Not intrusive at all!! I welcome the information – I never would have even thought to check that, and I didn’t know that about the tags either. Thanks for having my back!
The other other Sue 🙂
You are most welcome! When I started blogging I back loaded a bunch of my travel journals into the blog so I learned a lot of things by trial and error. The WordPress forums are a great way to ask questions or see if someone else has the same issue. After trying the above fixes for my posts not showing up in the Reader I eventually had to contact WordPress and they needed to change something on their end. Good luck with it!
Sue 🙂
Is it 14 tags per post or per website? I’ve been trying to keep all of mine down to per website, but I also do find my posts in WordPress so I gave up on it a while back. I make websites against Distracted Driving and all these sites, a net really, promote the family of Xzavier Davis-Bilbo, an eight year boy who was paralyzed by a distracted driver.

I’m not really sure? Since keeping mine down, I have noticed more traffic though, so I do think it really helps.
Thanks for your note. It is 15 total per post of categories and tags. This happened to me once before so I will certainly check. I actually have sent a similar note to others so I appreciate it!
That is a fantastic quote at the end. I will have to think on that and hopefully take it to heart.
Thank you! I have it in a frame on my desk so I can read it every day. 🙂

Hi Sue, I can wholeheartedly recommend Lightroom – and you should be able to get a book about it from the local library, or have a look for tutorials on the web. As with lots fo software, the basics are easy, but it takes a modicom of effort to get into some of the more advanced features. Keyword tagging is brilliant, as is the ease of minor adjustmnents like white balance, exposure, and highlight and shadow levels, black and white points, and also lens correction for your camera/lens combo. Cropping is a cinch too. But the power comes in the workflow. Try give it a try. Brett
Thanks, Brett! I will give it a go!
Oops – forgot to say that it is best when you shoot in raw. There is not as much versatilty with jpegs. 🙂
Hi Sue,
Thank you so much for stopping by at my blog and liking my posts. Your blog is wonderful and we share the same passion for biking. Give me a bike to explore world around, I will be happy 🙂
Glad to found you.
xx
Aanchal
Thank you, Aanchal! And thank you for following and your kind words. You are right – biking is a great way to see the world, even when it’s just your own little corner. I find so many hidden beauties on my bike that I would miss otherwise. Happy to have found you, too!
Sue
Sue, Thanks for visiting and following my blog. You are a quite interesting person! I like your Heroes page. May I copy that? What a great idea!
Absolutely! 🙂
Happy to have found you here!
Me too! I really liked your prayer about fear- great timing for me too. Interesting how we found each other again – first FB and now here. 🙂
What a fabulous quote, and an interesting “about” page. I feel like I know you. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Write on… 😉
Hi Sue, thanks for visiting my blog. Nice photo of you with your bike 🙂 Erma Bombeck had such a good way with words – lovely quote.
Thanks for the follow and kind words!
That looks hilly and challenging and no doubt good for your health!
Ha ha! It is! I usually only ride up it once or twice a summer, and have to really call on the reserves to get up that last bit. Thankfully, it’s not very long – just very steep!
Well that is good. I owe to my father the fear of steep drops due to his silly preoccupation with frightening me as a young boy…..
😦

Oh no- I will have to check into that later. Thanks for letting me know!
A lovely About page, Sue, and a great photo of you. I think we’re all works in progress, and all make plenty of mistakes. Live and learn is my motto … and it never stops, as far as I’m concerned.
Thank you again, Millie! Yes, quite true about always being a work in progress. It’s a good day when I don’t make the same mistake twice! 🙂
Same here. 🙂
Thank you for stopping by on my blog. I’ve been browsing through yours all morning and now have a permanent smile on my face. I love how you write!
Thank you! And smiling is exactly the result I hope for when I write. I’m glad you stopped by and let me know. I was checking out Cee’s other Fun Foto entries and that’s how I found you. I didn’t have time to browse your blog but I certainly will later!
I look forward to seeing you there 🙂
